At just 13 years old, Megan Gentil has spent more time in hospitals than most adults. She was born nine weeks premature, diagnosed with Down Syndrome, and spent her first three and a half months in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Dan’s job in Housekeeping was only supposed to last a short while. It was a means to an end, a way to bring in some extra income while he and his wife were in transition.  Their plan was to sell their house and move to North Carolina...

Tom was not a fan of hospitals and put off treatment for an illness that became very serious.  During his stay, he felt like the one and only patient.

Matt, diagnosed with cancer at age 19, had a fascination with cars.  His nurse, Helayne, was also a car fan and wanted to do something that would lift Matt's spirits.  Not only did Helayne lift his spirits, she provided a life-long dream.

When tragedy happens, it's easy to forget that the entire family needs support.  Sometimes that support comes from the most unexpected people.

What Mel thought would be a quick "tune-up" turned into an extended stay at Watertown Regional Medical Center.  Mel's Honor Flight was edging near and Nurse Navigator Laurie was going to ensure he made that flight.

Kelli was only 19 weeks pregnant when she went into pre-term labor – on a business trip in a strange town, far from her family. “It was a very scary time for me,” says Kelli.

Bill appreciates that Peter kept him informed, guiding him through an exercise and explaining how the movement would help him achieve his goals. Bill laughs, “I even liked the bell!”

When Ashley gave birth to a healthy baby boy, delivery was anything but easy or expected.

Cody, an American Family Children’s Hospital at Watertown patient, was pretty upset the night he was discharged. “Cody did not want to leave, he was having so much fun,” says mom, Katie.
