Prevention

Classes & Events

The best way to treat heart disease is to prevent it before it occurs.  Learning the risk factors of heart disease and taking positive steps in your life can significantly lower your odds of developing a heart condition.  At UW Health Partners Watertown Regional Medical Center, we can work with you and your physician to develop a heart-healthy prevention plan.

We Offer:

  • Heart Wellness Program - This educational program can help you better understand heart disease and make changes in your life to avoid it.
  • Heart Risk Assessments - Age, gender, heredity and lifestyle choices (smoking, diet and exercise) can impact your risk of developing heart disease.
  • Heart Check CT Scans - Called a calcium score, the amount of calcium detected on a cardiac CT scan is a helpful diagnostic tool.

Disease Management

While cardiovascular disease is always serious, millions of people diagnosed with it can continue to enjoy active lives by learning to properly manage their conditions.  Our Heart and Vascular Center experts can help through services such as:

  • Heart Failure Clinic - Patients diagnosed with heart failure find ways to live more comfortable and productive lives.
  • Arrhythmia Management Center - We offer a variety of electrophysiology services to help control and correct irregular heartbeats.
  • Cardiac rehabilitation - Following a heart attack or other heart problem, we design a personalized, medically supervised exercise and education program to improve your quality of life.
