Urinary incontinence is the loss of voluntary bladder control leading to urine leakage.  It can be temporary or chronic.  Our OB/Gyns specialists lead a team approach to treating urinary incontinence, which troubles one in five women.  From bladder retraining to the latest minimally invasive surgical treatments, a full continuum of treatment options are available to eliminate this embarrassing problem.

Interstim Therapy is a minimally invasive procedure and a test can be done in the office to see if the patient will respond to the therapy.  For most patients, relief is immediate with stimulators lasting five years to as long as 10 years.  This treatment has minimal side effects and minimal risks for complication.  Interstim Therapy, typically, responds more frequently in women ages 40-65 and is not for women with neurological disorders.  Click here for more information on Interstim Therapy.

Urethral suspension is a surgical procedure used to treat stress incontinence in women.  Stress incontinence is an uncontrolled leaking of urine.  It effects the bladder and urethra.  Types of physical stress that can cause this leakage include coughing, laughing, exercise, sneezing, or lifting.
