High-Risk Pregnancy
Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialty Services - When it comes to obstetric expertise, we deliver.
Having access to high-risk obstetric care can reassure a mother-to-be. Through a partnership with UW Health and Meriter Hospital, Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialty services are now available at the Center for Women's Health. This partnership provides specialized fetal screenings for all OB patients near the 20th week of pregnancy, evaluation and consultation for high-risk pregnancy, and seamless link to advanced hospital services, if needed.
Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians, also called perinatologists, are obstetricians who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care of expectant mothers and their unborn babies, who may be at high risk for special health problems. Services provided by Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians include maternal and fetal medical care, monitoring, ultrasound examinations, genetic counseling, diabetes education, state-of-the-art diagnostic tests, tests of fetal well-being, and more.
